You sign up once you get a partner of the opposite sex on the link below.
Tournament Style FAQ –
What LEAGUES are available?
There is one single co-ed doubles league.
How are TEAMS SELECTED?
You have to sign-up with your own partner of the opposite sex.
When will TEAMS BE ANNOUNCED?
Teams will be added to the Teams page shortly after you sign up.
Where is the GOOGLE DOC to record scores?
The Google Doc will be released the day before the tournament with your court number assigned. You can find it below when available and on the Facebook group.
Arrival FAQ –
What time is ARRIVAL?
8:30 am SHARP, unless you are bringing a net, then 8:00 am SHARP. This is so we have time to check-in. Please be respectful, consider parking, and arrive on time.
Can I VOLUNTEER earlier to help set up?
Yes! I will arrive at 7:30 am to begin setting up. I would love all the help I can get! People will need help with nets and I will need help at the tent.
Check-In FAQ –
What do I do to CHECK-IN?
- You will check in with Victoria when you arrive either at the check-in tent or her court right in front of the tent.
- Victoria will do a Facebook live the night before the tournament pulling your court numbers, so no need to pull your own number anymore.
Games FAQ –
What time do GAMES START?
9:00 AM or as soon as we are done with check-in.
What time do GAMES FINISH?
This depends how far you make it.
- Anytime between 2pm and 4pm, depending when you get eliminated during single elimination.
How will REGULAR GAMES be played?
- Regular matches will be one game to 21. Win at 21. Do not exceed 21.
- You will be in a pool of 5 teams, where you will play the 4 other teams.
How will PLAYOFF GAMES be played?
Playoff matches will be one game to 21. Win by 2. Cap at 25.
How will RANKINGS be decided?
- Record (Wins vs. Losses).
- Most Points For.
- Least Points Against.
Will there be BREAKS?
- I will make a schedule to follow for regular games with a break or two between games.
- If someone needs a longer break, put two other teams on that have not played.
- You do not need to follow the schedule fully. Just get the games done in the time frame provided.
- Playoffs will not have a break, so be ready to continuously play to win!
IMPORTANT GAME PLAY
Please always have a game going. Be considerate of the time. Warm up outside of your court between games. YOU control how long this day goes.
Registration Fees FAQ –
What is the REGISTRATION FEE?
- Early Registration – Before July 23rd – $100/team
- Regular Registration – On or after July 23rd (or when spots fill up) – $120/team
- There will be no refunds after June 23rd.
When is the MONEY DUE?
- The money is due ASAP to secure your team spot.
- Your spot is not guaranteed until you fill out the Google Form and pay.
How do I PAY?
- Right after you sign up on the Google Form you will be sent to a Payment Method. There will be a link on the page to click to move forward, that will also send to your email in case you lose it.
- Please pay ASAP so you do not lose the code. If you come across an issue please reach out to Victoria by text (203) 918-1304 or by Facebook Messenger.
Are there any DISCOUNTS?
- You will receive $50 OFF if you provide a net for the full day. Please reach out or mark on the registration form if you would like to do this.
- You will receive a discount if you provide tables or canopies. Please reach out or make on the registration form if you would like to do this.
- Victoria will provide a discount code if you provide anything to give to the winners. Reach out to her to figure this out.
Food/Drinks FAQ –
Is LUNCH provided?
Yes, lunch is provided. There will be an hour between regular games and playoffs to take a break and enjoy the food. Please reach out if you have any food intolerances.
Will SNACKS be provided?
There will be a small breakfast, snacks, waters, and more.
Other Tournament FAQ –
What if a player gets INJURED?
- If your teammate gets injured in regular games, you can replace them with someone who is not already playing. If there is no one to hop in, you will have to forfeit.
- If your teammate gets injured during playoffs, you will have to forfeit.
What are the PRIZES?
The winners will receive some swag from our sponsors as well as a trophy and some other goodies.
Will there be a RAFFLE?
Unfortunately, not this time. With the increase in permits, I do not have as much time to put into this event. We will still have a DJ and Photographer!
Will there be PHOTOS of the tournament?
- Yes, Sail Bay Volleyball Association hires a professional photographer for each event.
- The photos are usually released within a week of the tournament.
- Tips are encouraged to the photographer if they get good shots of you.
What should I BRING?
I would bring water and/or a sports drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, towel or chair, umbrella/canopy, a light snack, and a great attitude!
General FAQ –
Do we have to sign a WAIVER to play?
Yes, the waiver will be a part of the registration form and you can find the information is under the Waiver page on this website. By participating in any event hosted by Sail Bay Volleyball Association, you agree that you will abide by the Waiver and Release of Liability, the Covid-19 Release of Liability and the Pictures and Videos Release Acknowledgement.
